At a typically chiropractic office treat for low back pain consist of hands-on adjustment of the spine bones into proper alignment and sometimes physically therapy. So what you are probably wondering is how well chiropractic care will do for your back pain? Well I’ve scoured journals and other credible sources to give you some information on the effectiveness of chiropractic care and low back pain.
After reviewing a few journals I came across a study done on the effectiveness of chiropractic care on chronic low back pain vs medial or care from a family physician. The results are just astounding!
56% said it got better with chiropractic care and only 13% with the family physician or medical doctor. In fact here is exactly what was reported:
“Patients with chronic low-back pain treated by chiropractors showed greater improvement and satisfaction at one month than patients treated by family physicians. Satisfaction scores were higher for chiropractic patients. A higher proportion of chiropractic patients (56 percent vs. 13 percent) reported that their low-back pain was better or much better, whereas nearly one-third of medical patients reported their low-back pain was worse or much worse.”

This is quite amazing and it’s something that happens all the time in offices such as ours. But there are also more things you might be worried about such as the length of time it takes to get well and back to work. Well here is a quote I found from another study that also looked at the amount of time each of 3 treatment methods (chiropractic care, standard medical treatment and physical therapy).
“In terms of improving lost time from work, chiropractic care was similar to physical therapy; and as effective as or better than standard medical care.”
