Our Doctors

Eric Bengel, D.C.
Dr. Eric Bengel followed in his father's footsteps and graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1988. In 1993, he opened Allegheny Health & Rehabilitation Center's Gibsonia location. Since that time, he has worked to change the stereotypes of chiropractic treatment. He and his staff have been trained in some of the most advanced diagnostic and treatment tools available in chiropractic, including the Pro-Adjuster. This machine uses the same technology as the space industry in helping to locate and correct spinal nerve irritation (mis-aligned vertebra).
Dr. Bengel is married to Carolyn Bengel and has two children, Eric Jr. and Alexis. He loves to run, bike, swim, play tennis, and golf. He is a veteran of the National Ski Patrol.
"I have always been intrigued by the relationship of the interworkings of the musculoskeletal system, and my goal is to help rehabilitate broken down and damaged bodies."

Anthony J. Talorico, D.C.
Dr. Talorico attended Rutgers University and completed his chiropractic training at Life College of Chiropractic in 1995. Dr. Talorico operated his own clinic in Montgomery, Alabama before relocating to Pennsylvania with his wife and three children.
He is an active member of his community serving as a Deacon for his church and as a coach for the local baseball program in his area. He is very interested in sports and athletic training and has completed postdoctoral training in sports and athletic injuries as well auto accident injuries and clinical biomechanics.
Dr. Talorico joined the staff of Allegheny Health and Rehabilitation Center in May of 2002 and serves as the clinic director. In addition to his clinical duties Dr. Talorico conducts a number of informative workshops to educate and inform the community on health related issues such as nutrition, athletic rehabilitation and injury prevention, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, and auto accident injuries.
"I get tremendous satisfaction in assisting my patients on their road to recovery, and helping them return to their normal daily lives free from pain and dysfunction."

Dr. Benjamin Shultz
Dr. Benjamin Shultz is the newest addition to Allegheny Health & Rehabilitation Center. Dr. Shultz is a native of Burrell where he attended Lower Burrell High School before attending Penn State University. He later transferred to New York Chiropractic College where he completed his Chiropractic training. Additionally, Dr. Shultz has pursued post-graduate studies in electrophysiology and physiological therapeutics.
While at New York Chiropractic College, Dr. Shultz was selected as the recipient of a chiropractic intern rotation at Camp LeJeune Military Base in Jacksonville, N.C. During his five-month rotation, he completed rotations with Neurologists, Orthopedic surgeons, General Practitioners, Radiologists, Sports Medicine specialists, and Internal Medicine specialists. Not only did Dr. Shultz provide his patients with quality care, but he educated a multitude of health care professionals about the role and benefits of Chiropractic.
The youngest of eight children, Dr. Shultz has recently returned to the western Pennsylvania area. A horse enthusiast, he is pleased to be close to his family and their boarding stables at Travesty Farms. Dr. Shultz also enjoys the outdoors, and often hikes with his wife Lisa and his pet Boxer, Savannah. His sports background is what brought him to Chiropractic. "As a high school wrestler, I began seeking Chiropractic treatment. What appealed to me were the technical aspects of Chiropractic — similar to the technical aspects of wrestling. I liked the fact that you actually do something to correct a problem, not just taking a pill."
